Americans have a love affair with the military, in great part because of the way it’s glorified by the media, the same media that despised the military during the Vietnam War, when many of today’s overlords were eligible for the draft.
Following Washington’s eventual defeat in Vietnam, the Pentagon briefly throttled back the military adventurism that has characterized the Glorious Imperial Multicultural Empire during most of its existence. But that ended when Saddam Hussein was given the go-ahead by the Bush Sr. administration to invade Kuwait, precipitating the Gulf War of 1991, and ever since it’s been bombs away, albeit mostly in the Middle East.
But when was the last time Washington won one of its endless unconstitutional wars? The Permanent Regime is constantly at war all over the world in various undeclared and secret wars, but none are ever won. The “Defense” Department (it used to have the more honest name War Department) that wastes more taxpayer money each year than the military budgets of much of the rest of the world’s militaries combined, can’t defeat Afghan tribesmen who use WWI weapons, can’t defeat Iraq after leveling it, can’t beat anyone. Well, maybe mighty Grenada back in 1983.
After the U.S. finally withdrew from Vietnam in 1975, there was much sermonizing about “learning the lessons of Vietnam.” But the Vietnam template is still followed almost to the letter – endless bombing that doesn’t defeat the supposed enemy but that does kill and displace many civilians and destroys infrastructure, a slow and endless toll of dead and injured American servicemen, no clear plan for victory and no endgame, just war without end over mostly defenseless third world peoples who couldn’t harm the U.S. even if they wanted to. Actually some can and do, but that’s because at the same time Washington is wasting trillions of dollars bombing Arab countries, open borders and insane immigration policies are followed that allow external enemies radicalized by U.S. foreign policy to infiltrate the “homeland.”
The Pentagon is disgraceful. The waste, the destruction, the killings of huge numbers of foreigners, the large number of Americans killed and maimed in senseless wars, yet the “right” and the “left” are as one in supporting the military and the neo-con madmen running U.S. foreign policy.
The military has also become a communist laboratory in social experimentation. Racial integration was inevitable in a society devoted to artificial equality, but that was followed by allowing girls, homosexuals, and now “transgenders” to all be part of the deadly fun as straight men were forced to endure endless “sensitivity training” to avoid any widespread mutiny.
Conservatives should be vehemently opposed to the Pentagon and U.S. foreign policy. How can anyone supposedly dedicated to “smaller government and traditional values” support an institution that has entangled U.S. troops in over 150 countries and maintains some 1,000 bases around the world, all while instituting crazy racial and sexual policies? It is impossible for a globe-straddling military empire to have small government and freedom at home, yet conservatives are as easily bamboozled as ever. The former communist bogeyman has been replaced with today’s Muslim bogeyman; nothing has been learned.
Of course Conservatism Inc. long ago embraced the welfare/warfare state. They have more affection for the warfare part just as leftists favor welfare programs. But make no mistake, the central government’s two monopoly gangs long ago united as one on all important issues despite their endless bickering on lesser issues.
Republicans and Democrats now are almost completely united in wanting to force Russia to submit to U.S. domination, even if it brings about a nuclear holocaust. Russia is demonized as “aggressive” and “expansionist” by the elites of the government that is the actual aggressor and which is pursuing world domination.
America is a land gone mad in so many ways. It seems only nationalists are still able to maintain a clear-eyed vision in an Orwellian society.
